    3. Hello again Desley,   After sending my last message, I looked and I have got a drawing of Bridge House from the edited volumes of J B Scott's diaries.   It says "Bridge House (now Scott House) from the garden" - so it appears the house is now (or was at the time of the volume) called Scott House. - Hope that helps - do get in touch if you would like a copy of the drawing - Rosie --- On Tue, 11/1/11, suffolk-request@rootsweb.com <suffolk-request@rootsweb.com> wrote: Date: Mon, 10 Jan 2011 20:55:45 +1000 From: "Desley Revell" <desley.revell@gmail.com> Subject: [SFK-UK] Bridge House, Bridge Street, Bungay To: "Suffolk Digest" <SUFFOLK@rootsweb.com> Message-ID: <002201cbb0b4$f6836840$e38a38c0$@gmail.com> Content-Type: text/plain;    charset="us-ascii" Can anyone assist me as I am looking for more information on Bridge House.  Also what number in Bridge Street, Bungay, this property would have been located Would it have been a private home, or something else.  I have found this address on one of my ancestors in the 1911 census. 3. Hello Desley   Bridge House in Bungay was a private house owned by Samuel Scott - he was a relative of J.B. Scott the diarist, who often mentioned it in his diaries.    The sister of my 3x great grandfather, Hannah Butcher lodged there in 1851 and 1861 - she nearly married J B Scott's father and was a great friend of the family and ended up living with them.    The census of 1851 gives the address as 110 Common Drift, Bungay and I am pretty sure from the diaries that this is where Bridge House was. (this would need checking)   If you would like to email me - I will look up some more details (I think I may also have a drawing of Bridge House somewhere!)   Rosie Frost     Message: 4 Date: Mon, 10 Jan 2011 20:55:45 +1000 From: "Desley Revell" <desley.revell@gmail.com> Subject: [SFK-UK] Bridge House, Bridge Street, Bungay To: "Suffolk Digest" <SUFFOLK@rootsweb.com> Message-ID: <002201cbb0b4$f6836840$e38a38c0$@gmail.com> Content-Type: text/plain;    charset="us-ascii" Can anyone assist me as I am looking for more information on Bridge House.  Also what number in Bridge Street, Bungay, this property would have been located. 3. G'day Listers Some help please! Could someone please, who has access to the 1881 Census page scans on Ancestry, (not FamilySearch), check a listing for me. Am primarily interested in the spelling of a Surname in this Census. I am looking for a Westley WAPLING, (surname from FreeBMD 1858 Birth registration page scan). Also shown as Westley WOPLING, (surname from FreeBMD 1879 marriage registration page scan). Westley married Emma FARTHING in Romford R D in December quarter 1879. There son's surname is shown as WOPLIN in a FreeBMD 1880 birth registration. At the time of the 1881 Census, Emma had her younger sister, Rose Farthing, 8 years old, and born Lindsey, Suffolk, living with her. This latter information on Rose should assist in finding this family group quickly FamilySearch shows Emma & Westley as: "Werlesy & Emma WOPUN". 3. Does anyone have any information regarding the residence named MISSION COTTAGE, VIOLET HILL, STOWMARKET ? It is the address shown for one of my ancestors in 1881 and 1891. She was a widow and it would appear that there were several other families living at the same place. Was this some kind of parish sponsored accommodation for the poor or just one large house rented out to several families? I have googled to no avail although there appears to be a charitable organization in much the same area at the present time. Many thanks. My emails are coming through with large spaces between the paragraphs so I am trying his one with no spaces at all to see if that helps. Sorry if it comes out crowded! Marj.

    3. Due to some apparently conflicting relationships recorded in several censuses' I am seeking help with my ROBINSON ancestors. The person in question is Susannah or Susan ROBINSON who was born abt 1834 in STOWMARKET. She married Henry LILLISTONE in 1856 in Stowmarket. Her birth is many years later than her apparent siblings so either she is a daughter of a second wife who was not alive in 1841 or she is from a different father. I am seeking her baptismal record which I believe took place in Stowmarket abt 1834. Many thanks for any help which may be available. Marj.
