    3. First thing I can suggest is check her birth registration on the GRO website. This will give her mother's maiden name. FreeBMD will not give it. FindMyPast has updated so they will also likely give it. If you don't have a subscription with FindMy Past the GRO website is free but you will need to register as if you were going to request a copy of the document. But no fee to register. 3. Hi all, My first post to this new list. Lets see if this second attempt at posting this query works. I have actually deleted all my previous research that became infested with erroneous information supposedly sourced but not adequately proven. So my search is for Clara Jane Howe b.1879 Ipswich. Parents are John Howe m. Rosanna ? according to 1881 census. Clara was married at least 2 or probably 3 times to – 1st - 1911 Alexander George F Thacker, Suffolk 2nd or probably 3rd - 1944 George D Jamieson, Welton, Lincs On this m. cert George D Jamieson (my Grdfather) is recorded as Henry George Davidson Jamieson, a widower. Clara has her name recorded as Ward and a widow. Father John Howe (deceased). So was Clara actually married a 3rd time to a Ward ? I do not think the Ward name was used to confuse/hide anything as the fathers name is recorded correctly as Howe. Any help would be much appreciated. George

It was not my intention to infer that the same was true for unsubscribing from the list. Conflation of two things occurring. Putting them in the same paragraph was a mistake, obviously. 3. Hi Brad Not so I am afraid You do not need to be registered with Rootsweb to subscribe or unsubscribe, or visit the lists archives, but do to see the list of lists you are subscribed to as you say But registering does make it a lot easier and enables various things to be changed to suit the user The archives were down for a couple of weeks but have been up again for a while and are available from each lists home page as are the links to subscribe/unsubscribe Archives are still being rebuilt but are presently back to 2004 so far Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) > RootsWeb (RW) changed pretty much everything earlier this year (or late > last year). 3. Hi Robert If you have registered with Rootsweb you would see the lists you are subscribed to and be able to unsubscribe or put yourself on holiday mode (ie remain on the list but not receive posts) If you are trying to subscribe or unsubscribe using the old "request" address, no it won't work You need to use the newer subscribe/unsubscribe addresses, as found on each lists home page In this lists case :- https://mailinglists.rootsweb.com/listindexes/search/SUFFOLK Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 13/07/2018 12:01, Robert wrote: > thank you Nivard but I do know which lists I am subscribed to. This has meant that _everyone_ needs to re-register on RW to be able to see the lists they are subbed to. If you've not done that, you won't be able to view a complete list of lists you're subscribed to. The link to unsubscribe/archives is broken, but the email prefs link takes you where you need to be. 1. [SFK-UK] FreeCen Project Update Suffolk 1871
    2. Bev Howlett
    3. Hi I am writing to provide an update on the 1871 Suffolk FreeCen project. Another 3 pieces have been uploaded to the on line database and are now searchable for free on the main freecen site at http://www.freecen.org.uk These are pieces RG101715 Bures which covers the parishes of Assington, Alphamstone, Lamarsh, Bures St Mary, Bures, Stoke by Nayland, Nayland, Wissington or Wiston. RG101741 Dennington which covers the parishes of Laxfield, Monk Soham, Saxstead, Southolt, Tannington, Wilby, Worlingworth. RG101743 Coddenham which covers the parishes of Barham, Framsden, Gosbeck, Helmingham, Hemingstone, Henley, Mickfield, Pettaugh, Stonham Aspall, Swilland, Winston This means that there are now 157,920 (51.4%) 1871 Suffolk census records available to search free on line. Many thanks to all the volunteers who have given their time freely to help the project without their help this information would not be available. There is still much to be done and if you would like to help please contact me on bev.howlett56@gmail.com I still have some 1871 areas available for transcription so if you fancy having a go please contact me. The information is available in digital format and can be sent via email. -- Bev Howlett FreeCen Co-Ordinator Norfolk 1861,1871,1891 Suffolk 1841, 1871, 1891 Cambridge 1861, 1891 Surrey 1871,1891 Find Out How To Help http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/bevsnorfolkinfo/ http://www.freecen.org.uk

    1. [SFK-UK] Burial and marriage Lookup
    2. Robert
    3. Hello everyone; Would anyone have the Suffolk Burial Index of the 1700’s a marriage index also for the 1700’s. I am looking for a marriage between ROBERT STEPHENSON and Bridget ??????? I do not know her maiden name and I do not know where they married. Robert and Bridget did have a son ROBERT STEPHENSON born at Creeting All Saints 1730/1731 buried January 10,1731 at Creeting All Saints. Robert died 1757 at Winston and Bridget later married John MEADOWS 1767 at Creeting All Saints. I do not know when and where Bridget ( Stephenson ) Meadows died . As a guess to her birth year I have an estimated guess as 1710???. I would also like to have the burial date for John Meadows. Thank you for the help Bob

    1. [SFK-UK] John & Frances Tyte
    2. Brian Sillett
    3. I put this enquiry to the Norfolk list recently but realise that parishes near the Norfolk/Suffolk border might also have Tyte bmds relevant to my query. In her will of 1620 at Pulham, Amy Sillett wife of Richard, states her sister Frances married John Tyte. They had many children baptised at Denton 1580 –1605. I can’t find Amy Sillett’s marriage so I don’t know her maiden name and was hoping I could get it from her sister’s marriage but can’t find that either. Frances and Amy might have been Lawsons or Sayers as a best guess, but only that. I would be interested to hear from anyone who has any of the surnames mentioned above in their researches to help me sort out a bit of a mess. Brian Sillett.

    3. Hi Ken, Is this re: George (1828) or someone else? Glen. Today's Topics:   1. Woodgate - Ipswich Record Office (Ken Woodgate) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Fri, 25 May 2018 14:04:19 +1200 From: "Ken Woodgate" <ken.woodgate@xtra.co.nz> Subject: [SFK-UK] Woodgate - Ipswich Record Office Good morning, I am interested in a couple of items held at the Office. Should someone be visiting Ipswich Office, and could check out a couple names in the Blything (Bulcamp) workhouse Admission/Discharge Register - I would be grateful. I have the Record Office references for the two items that would need to be checked - and a likely year for an admission.. Thanks Ken Woodgate New Zealand
