Hello List, I am seeking any descendants of the following Stampf line. Not often seen as STUMPF...but one son may have gone with STUMPF due to a mispelling on his birth certificate and he feared a hassle so he just used Stumpf...his sons continued to use Stumpf. Friedrich Stampf and his wife Mathilda arrived in New York approximately 1860 from Germany with their infant son and firstborn: Henry R. Stampf. They had the following children in Brooklyn, NY: Charles b. 1863; Fredrik b. 1865; Augustus b May 1868; Frank b. August 1871; Edward b. August 1872 and Rosa b. March 1876. This according to 1880 Census. On 1900 Bklyn, NY Census, Mathilda is listed as widowed, age 62 and listed with her are August, age 32, S; Frank, age 29, S; Edward, age 27, S; and Rosie, age 24, S. All the males listed as Day Laborers...women show no occupation. Would appreciate any information you may have on this family. Joanie
