Mother named Margaret, d. in 1877 in Preble Co. Ohio on his farm. Father/ancestors etc. unknown so far. Married Susannah Petry, b. 1897, 7th child of George Petry and Catarina Kaltrieder/Kaltenrieder. Susannah b. York Co. Pa. and both were German Baptist Bretheren , and evidently part of a small close community as the Stumps/Petrys/Millers and Werhleys show up frequently in several generations. Benjamin and family along with some Petrys and Millers moved to Preble Co. Ohio in about 1832-35. from Codorus twp in York Co. Pa........ Children 1. Jonathan Corbin b. 17 Mar 1848/Anna Teeter Note that all the males had Corbin as the middle name (Benjamin changed it later to Franklin) and all the females had Ann. Since 90% of York Co. was German, and they were German Baptist Bretheren, we assume the Stump ancestors are German or Swiss, also because the Bretheren church is a variation of the Mennonite/Amish movement of pacifist groups originating with the Anabaptist movement in Switzerland/Germany. Cannot find any reference or hint as to Benjamin's parents surnames..or even proof of his place/time of birth. My line comes through Solomon (who had 22 children).
