Thanks to Gloria, Gordon, and others who have been sharing Stump history. I know nothing about the Stumps and am anxious to know more. I would appreciate any answers anyone can give to the following questions: Did all the Stumps / Stumpfs come from the same region of Germany? If so, where? What was the reason they emigrated? Did they all emigrate at the same time and, if so, when? Were they all Palatine? I see many lived in Amish country. Were these Stumps Pennsylvania Dutch? Did certain families go different directions when they got to this country? My family ended up in Ohio but I know nothing whatever about them before that. The rest of my family are all Irish or English and I know nothing about German immigration, plus my mother did not even know she had a German grandmother because her mother was orphaned at 3. I found out after my mother died. I would be really happy to have any information about the Stumps in Germany or in the United States that anyone can give me. Thanks very much. Nancy Chamberlain
