Hello and Happy Holidays! I am wondering if someone in this county could look up a death cert or obit for me? I am looking for parentage of a gal who is listed with two different maiden names in two different county published histories. Ida Mae STUMP b. 24 May 1865 area unknown d. 4 May 1949 in Pulaski Co, IL , m. 6 Sep 1880 in Montgomery Co, IL to John Samuel BUNKER. I have a copy of her marriage in which she is listed as Stump. I also have copy of birth/ death certs of a couple of her children in which she is listed as a Stump. I also have a copy of page 99 of the Pulaski Co, IL history that has her pic and John S. Bunker and names her as a Stump. HOWEVER, I also have a copy of pages 376-379 and page 382-383 of "Counting Kindred" by E.E. & M.L. Deppen. In the Anna Deppen Yeakley Branch section on page 382 it states that "Gen 5th- Harriet Stonebraker m. Chas. Bunker (twin of Sophia). The Bunker family moved to Ark in 1887. (Geo S. Stonebraker sold to Chas. Bunker, Sept 13, 1855 in Mont. Co., IN.) Issue:(10) Gen. 6- James Bunker killed by Jesse James gang in Fairgold, Ark, m. (c.); John Bunker m. Ida BROWN; Caroline Bunker m. Oliver Peacock (c.) res. Alamo, Ind; Martha Bunker, b. Mar 22 1855; d. 1909 m. (1) Emory Clark (2) James Harwood, b. 1855; d. May 1937; Mary Bunker m. James BROWN; Laura Bunker m. John Cornman; Geroge Bunker (s.); Arkansas Bunker m. Wm. Sikes; Lovina Bunker m. Isaac Wright (c.) res. Alamo, Ind; and Lou Ann Bunker , d. (s.). Gen. 6th- John m. Ida Brown, res. Okla. Issue: (3); Gen. 7th- Clarence, Roy and Howard Bunker." Now I do have a Clarence Bunker as a child of John and Ida Bunker..but don't have a Roy or Howard listed for their children. So my question is...with as secretive as the family seems to have been about Ida...why was she referred to as Ida Brown in one book and listed as Ida Stump in everything else???? There were many Stump families around the Bunkers in Mont. Co. but she is not listed among them on the copies of census pages I have. Could she have taken that name after being taken in by a Stump family?? Any help on this would be appreciated! Best Wishes, Gayle gayle@olypen.com http://www.olypen.com/gayle
