Hi: A good many members of my family were from Michigan but none in lumber. My grandfather Stroup (Shirley) was a barber. My Uncle Robert (Geisinger) spelled his name Stroupe and insisted my grandmother do the same. Yours and my Stroups/Stroupes are probably not related. My Aunt June (Stroup), since deceased, was never employed, as far as I know. She married her childhood sweetheart, Vincent Heim, who had been the postmaster general of Coldwater, Michigan. Cheers
