Don't know of a George [ yet -- there probably is one :) ] But am looking for ancestors of Daniel W. Stroup born 1824 in Germantown, Philadelphia, d. 1890 in Cambria County. He started out as a bricklayer. In 1850 Census, Spring Garden, Germantown, Philadelphia, located him in a boarding-house. He married, "about the time of the Mexican War", Catherine Steiner (born 1826 in Germantown, Philadelphia d. 1911), and they later moved to Cambria County. I have a fair bit of info on his descendants, and some of his brothers. His father was also named Daniel Stroup, died 1887. Would love to exchange some data, and see if there's a connection .
