My Grandfather, Frederick W. Stroup was born in Union County, PA., and I cannot find any bona fide info on his parents or beyond! It seems as if the 'early' Stroup's did not want to leave any trace. I had no trouble getting Frederick's Civil War Records, I know when and where he was married and where he and my Grandmother lived during the course of their life together, but that is it!
