Hello, I am a long-time Stroup researcher, but a new member to this list. I'd like to get in touch with others working on Eli Stroup (b. abt. 1801 NC - d. aft. 1850, ?), son of Philip Stroup, Sr. of Lincoln Co., NC. I descend from Eli's son Ephraim, who took his family from Lincoln/Gaston Co., NC to Tippah Co. MS in 1850. I lose track of Eli after 1850, at which time he's in GA, apparently working for his relative, Moses Stroup, at an iron works. I'm happy to share freely what I have with others. I want to learn the name of Eli's first wife (and mother of Ephraim), who died before 1830, when Eli married second Elizabeth Shetley. Reiley Kidd Seattle
