Hoping to find some long lost cousins. I have been looking for my Great grandparents James Robert & Adalaide (STROUPE) ROGERS for a long while and haven't found anything. All dates are estimates except for birth of grandmother Maude Edith. Family history has James as captain of the ship "Philadelphia" during civil war but can’t find war records. NARA says there were 6 ships in the CW called “Philadelphia,” and if they were leased by the War Dept., then they were manned by civilians and there would be no records, which seams to be my situation. Chamberlain Nettie b. ca1868, Anna b. ca1873, Bell b. ca1875. Maude Edith b. 24 Apr 1870, Brady’s Bend PA, d. 7 Feb 1958, Webster, NY Maude married Lewis F. O’brien in Kill Buck, NY ca1893. Eight children. Maude gave conflicting census data on birth place of her mother Adalaide, 1900 census - MA, 1910 census - PA. Maude’s sisters Nettie and Bell lived in the town of Harmony, village of Panama Chautauqua Co. NY, but don’t know if married or names and could not find them in census. Will share information.
