It would seem there should be at least an estate settlement about 1860. You may want to do a search for that. Census records indicated several children, including two daughters born 1795-1800, and a daughter born 1801-1810, who have not been identified. There are two clues that would support the conclusion that Jarrett Long was a son-in-law of David and Lucretia Strong On the 1840 census, Jarret Long is found on Page 146, Line 1. David Strong is enumerated on Page 146, Line 16. Also on Page 146 is Matthew Strong, Line 17, obviously a son of David Strong. Matthew Strong is later found in Maury Co., TN. On the 1850 census, Augustine Long, age 19 (born about 1831) was residing in the David and Lucretia Strong household, with his occupation listed as farm laborer. I have reviewed my abstracts of deeds and other records and find no other indication that there was a connection between David and Lucretia Strong and the Jarrett Long family of Giles County, TN. An intensive search for Jarrett Long and family might be more productive. Please share any additional information you may have about Catherine Selenda Strong Long. The URL above is correct.
