Wilma and all; Been watching the postings today re New York Strongs and, at the last one, I grabbed my atlas to locate Washington County and had a thought..... Whenever you KNOW the location of a town or county, it may be helpful to the rest of the list to see that in your message. Such as md 2 July 1812 Granville, Washington NY WHICH IS THE AREA NEAR LAKE GEORGE, GLENNS FALLS, HUDSON FALLS, FORT EDWARD AND KINGSBURY. I realize you won't always know that kind of thing but naming other nearby towns might get the attention of someone who never heard of Granville but had a great grandmother in Glenns Falls! I know that for myself, I can usually spot names of towns in Jefferson and Oswego counties AND I WATCH FOR THAT but, I don't know much about other counties so would not necessarily pay close attention to a message naming a town I am unfamiliar with. For this particular Lydia M. STRONG, I notice on the map that Granville is also very close to the VT border.....Rutland VT. People with branches in Rutland are a good place to look for Lydia.
