=============================================================== 1810 CENSUS HEAD OF MICROFILM HOUSEHOLD COUNTY PAGE James Strong Rockingham 012 John Strong Rockingham 033 John Strong, Sr. Rockingham 008 Nathan K. Strong Chowan 221 Sneed Strong Rockingham 007 Zachariah Strong Rockingham 008 Alexander [Strong] Martin Rockingham 005 NOTE: James Strong, "Sr.", son of William Strong, died before the settlement of his estate in March, 1805. He had legally adult sons named John, Samuel, James, and Thomas, and an minor son, William Strong. They were probably residing with their mother, Mrs. Mary Strong, who was not found in this index, or with one of the siblings, James or John. A review of these census records should reveal if this is the case. In this index, one of the John Strongs, probably "Sr.", possibly James Strong, and Alexander S. Martin are probably the sons of Elizabeth Strong, consort of Alexander Martin. Elizabeth Strong reportedly resided with Alexander Martin till her death. A review of his census records should provide more data about her. Did Mrs. Mary Strong, the widow of the 1790 and 1800 census reports of Rockingham County, die before 1810 or did she perhaps relocate with one of her children? The Strongs who migrated to Russell / Scott County, VA, and from there to Kentucky, were likely her descendants. William Strong relocated by 1794. Samuel Strong relocated by 1796. Thomas Strong (2nd) relocated by 1806. I still question who was the husband of Mrs. Mary Strong and the father of her children. Jim Rolff presented a theory. What we need is proof of the theory. ============================================================== 1820 CENSUS Joel Strong Granville 024 John Strong Cumberland 192 John Strong Rockingham 596 Mary Strong Chowan 128 Robert Strong Rockingham 600 Samuel Strong Rockingham 590 Sneed Strong Rockingham 604 Zachariah Strong Rockingham 608 Alexander S. The one in Guilford County was selected based on a published family history that said that about 1840 Alexander Strong Martin relocated to Summerfield, which is located in Guilford County. He relocated again about 1848 to Mississippi State and died 1864 in Holmes Co., MS. His widow, Margaret Sharp Martin reportedly returned to Rockingham County, NC, after his death. Information about Alexander Strong Martin can be found on World Family Tree CD #5, Tree 2912. The ancestry of Alexander Strong Martin in that database is erroneous. See also WFT CD #22, Tree 2055, which I have not reviewed. ================================================================ 1850 CENSUS Adam S.
