    3. To All: I just have to "flash" this sometimes to see if it invokes a positive response. (STRONG) (m abt 1826) ============================================================================ ============== Prepared 29 Sep 1998 by ============================================================================ ============== FAMILY NOTES HUSBAND NOTES: Thomas Sr. STRONG General: !Thomas Sr. is listed on page 702 of the "Commemorative Biographical Record" of Grant Co, WI as a member of an old family that dates back before the American Revolution in New England. He was a soldier in the War of 1812. WIFE NOTES: Martha Mary BOND CHILD NOTES: Thomas Jr.. STRONG General: !Thomas is on the 1850 Census on page 210 in Grant Co, WI. Also listed were his wife, Mary, and eight children. A biographical record is given on pages 701-702 in "Commemorative Biographical Record" of Grant Co. He spent about three years in TN prior to coming to WI, where he followed mining and farming. On the 1842 Census of the Eastern Division of Grant Co, WI, there is a Thomas Strong listed as having a spouse and 6 males and 4 females. I am not sure how they counted them or if there may have been other children not found on later censuses. At that point, there should have been only 5 children, not 10 as the census may seem to suggest. Earlier, in the 1836 Census for Iowa County (the boundaries kept changing) it appears that he probably was living there with seven other individuals. Since his daughter Mary was indicated on the Censuses as having been born in WI in 1835, it is probably safe to assume the Thomas Strong on the 1836 Census and the Thomas Strong on the 1842 Census are this Thomas Strong.
