    2. This is all of the information I have on my Strong line. Does any of it match anyone else's research? James STRONG, b. Ireland, October, 20, 1782, (probably Donegal) d. May 8, 1836 in America, m. Prudence ELLIOTT in Ireland. She died in America also. The children of James and Prudence were: John - b. ca 1809 in Ireland (my ancestor), m. Martha Amelia PURDY Mary - b. ca 1811, m. James MC CULLOUGH William Elliott - b. 1813, m. Mary AULD (she burned the Strong family bible after a fight with William) Margaret - b. 1815, m. Henry MOLESWORTH Jane - b. 1817, m. James ROBISON Thomas Lee - b. 1818, m. Margaret TEMPLETON Prudence - b. 1820, m. Elijah BILLINGSLEY Catherine - b. 1823, d. at age 19, unmarried Finley Ritchey - b. 1825, m. Orleans WRIGHT Elizabeth S. - b. 1827, d. at age 15, unmarried James Harvey Strong - b. 1830, m. Rebecca TEMPLETON George - b. 1833 (died at 4 days of age) (The above information came from Sherman Strong, Henrietta, MO, a cousin to John Strong, nephew of James. It was found in an undated letter to my Aunt Kate Strong. She died nearly 25 years ago.) May 14, 1857 near Galesburg, IL Albert - b. ca 1861, d. at age 11 * My g grandfather, "Dick" had several half brothers and sisters but we are not sure whether they were from John's first marriage or Julia's first marriage to Mr. BRAGG. James Decatur "Dick" Strong - b. May 14, 1857 near Galesburg, IL, d. April 17, 1922 in MO, buried at Van Horn Cemetery in Carroll Co. MO, m. Martha Amelia PURDY*, b. March 25, 1868 at Purdy Creek, NY, d. Nov. 18, 1948 in Carroll Co, MO. *We must have a marriage date someplace - I just haven't found it yet. The Purdy's moved to IL after the death of Martha's father, Jonathan Baker PURDY. Her mother was Matilda Ann FAUVER. I have some info on both of these families. James "Dick" Strong was a Campbellite Christian minister in IL. He met Martha PURDY and they eloped when she was 14 or 15. They lived in NE, AK, KS and MO. They may have been in IA too. Hazel MC KAY Faye* - (my grandmother) born Jan. 30, 1894, Brownville, Nemaha, Co, NE, d. January, 1962, Topeka, KS, m. Olaf SELBY SOWARD, July 14, 1919, Central City, NE. Opal - b. Jan. 20, 1898, d. July 11, 1979 in Kansas City, KS, buried at Van Horn Cemetery, Carroll Co, MO, m. Ralph HAMMOND ca 1930, no children. Rex Decatur - b. Dec. 29, 1903 in Thayer, Neosho Co, KS, d. 1981 in MO, buried in Van Horn Cemetery, Carroll Co, MO, m. Kathryn Lorraine OLDHAM (living), one son (living). * My maternal grandparents, Faye STRONG and Olaf SELBY SOWARD also eloped.
