    3. My handwritten index of Southern Strongs in the War of 1812 has no Thomas Strongs from North or South Carolina, but two from Virginia: one served in the Fourth Regiment, Virginia Militia, and the other served in the Fifth Regiment, Viginia Militia. That's all I have in my index, but it should be enough for you to obtain copies of their files from the National Archives. I think I have heard it said that the National Archives has a web site from which you can order forms, etc., but I have not checked it and do not have an URL handy. Try doing an Internet search for the National Archives using Alta Vista or Web Crawler. The National Archives charges a small handling fee to cover mailing costs, etc. The way it worked 10 or 15 years ago, you obtained blank copies of the forms, send in a query, they did a search and reported to you what they found and the cost to obtain copies, THEN you sent a formal order with payment. It was a fairly slow process back then. I recommend you request a search for the entire file of these two soldiers. That could include enlistment record, pay rosters, survivor's pension application, bounty land application(s), and widow's pension application. Good searching, "Bob T." Robert T.
