My Strong line is apparently not related to Elder John Strong, but we are very nice people! Dear Thelma, I am new to the Strong mailing list and ran across your query in the archives. I believe that your James Strong is my ancestor. Here is what I have: James STRONG, b. Ireland, October, 20, 1782, d. May 8, 1836 in America, m. Prudence Elliott in Ireland. She died in America also. The children of James and Prudence were: John - b. ca 1809 in Ireland (my ancestor) Mary - b. ca 1811 William Elliott - b. 1813 Margaret - b. 1815 Jane - b. 1817 Thomas Lee - b. 1818 Prudence - b. 1820 Catherine - b. 1823 Finley Ritchey - b. 1825 Elizabeth S. - b. 1827 James Harvey Strong - b. 1830 George - b. 1833 (died at 4 days of age) I have all of the info on John's marriage and children and up to now, but I don't know anything else about his brothers and sisters.
