    1. Strongs to Manulis, NY 1795
    2. Dear Strong researchers: What do you think about the following: Part I My Sarah Strong (thought to be dau of Joel (Eleazer, Jedidiah, Jedidiah) and Sarah (who is listed as Eunice Bascomb - with Sarah's death date attatched -in the IGI and perhaps in Dwight (I do not have the entire volume) very confusing - since the Granville Vitals clearly state Sarah Strong d. 13 April 1815, aged 84. Was her name Eunice but she called herself Sarah? Eunice Bascom was born in 1752 (IGI) it doesn't compute. My Sarah (thought to be the dau of Joel Sr.(b.c.1733),of Granville) was born in 1755/6. Is Eunice really the wife of Joel Strong Jr. who died in 1813 at the age of 56 after living 29 years bedridden after a fire in 1784? Joel Strong, Sr died in 1808 at the age of 75. I see that Eunice Bascom is listed as" md. about" does this mean it is actually undocumented and listed as fact? Corrections need to be made? Any thoughts??? Part II My Sarah Strong who married Stephen Bancroft c. 1773;(accd to family history by Charles P. Bancroft, grandson of Sarah and Stephen) was pregnant with her last child Roxane Bancroft in 1795 and could not travel until Roxane was born in the summer. However, Mary Strong( dau.Lt. Noah) and her husband David Soule of Westfield, Mass (accd to Dwight p. 1143) removed to Manlius, NY on Feb 14, 1795. Thomas, son of Sarah and Stephen Bancroft, takes the family mother and children, by mule team when Roxena is 2 weeks old in the summer of 1795 and goes to Manulis, NY ( I assume Stephen had gone on ahead poss with Mary and David Soule and others?) Stephen and Sarah reside in Manlius, NY for a short time and decide to remove to Monroe Co. NY (doubtless, other relatives are there). They reside there for 2 years before deciding on Penfield, NY then to Walworth for permanent settlement. Jesse Bancroft son of Stephen and Sarah (Strong)Bancroft, married his cousin Hannah Warner, dau of Samuel and Sarah ( Crittenden) Warner who had come from Stockbridge, MA and settled in the area Ononodaga Co. NY (later the part that bec. Cayuga Co. NY). So you will find several of Stephen and Sarah's children here. Question: What is the supporting evidence on Eunice Bascom as wife of Joel, SR?Why is the name Sarah on the death record for Eunice and born in another, more appropriate time frame to have his Joel Sr.'s children? Question: How close were the families of Mary Strong Soule and Stephen and Sarah (Strong?) Bancroft? Question: What are the odds that Sarah (reported to be Strong by reliable source (i.e. the rest of the Charles P. Bancroft Genealogy is about 98% accurate, when I can find the records) would be living next door with husband and children in the tight little area of Granville with Joel and the rest of his children - Eleazer, Joel Jr. ...if she was the daughter of another Strong Family? Please drop me a note if you have an opinion or knowledge of any of the above mentioned. Thank you for patience in reading this, Carla Davenport
