    3. Susan, First welcome to the Strong list. And secondly, I'd like to say hello to a distant cousin. I read your e-mail with some interest, especially after reading that your family had lived in Bloomington, IN at one time. My Strong ancestors also lived in Monroe Co., IN, which is the county that Bloomington is in. And then I recognized several names from my family history. The names that rang a bell were Robert Richard Strong and his wife Sarah Voss. I'm currently at work and most of my files are at home, so for now I will give you your line back and then fill in the details when I have my notes in front of me. I'll start with Robert Richard Strong since that is where you appear to have not been able to continue. Robert Richard Strong, b. 1842 in Indiana, married Sarah L. Voss, daughter of Emory B. Voss and Rachel Pitts, on 21 February 1871 in Monroe Co., IN. Robert died 3 April 1924 in Monroe Co. Robert's parents were: Robert R. Strong, b. in 1815 in South Carolina, likely in Chester Co. He married Margaret Wylie, daughter of Samuel and Nancy Wylie. Robert's parents were: Robert S. Strong, b. April 1786 in South Carolina. He married Jennet McKee, daughter of Samuel McKee, in about 1810 in South Carolina. Robert died 1 November 1832 in South Carolina. Robert's parents were: Robert Strong, b. 1752. He married Sarah Simonton, daughter of Robert and Margaret Simonton . Robert died 20 October 1824 in South Carolina. Robert's parents were: James Strong, Sr., b. 1709 in Ireland (likely Northern Ireland). He married a woman named Elizabeth (last name unknown) in 1751 in Ireland. James died 5 November 1779 in Chester Co., South Carolina. Our common ancestor is Robert S. Strong and his wife Jennet McKee. Their daughter, who is the younger sister of your Robert, Martha B. Strong married Samuel Moffatt. Samuel and Martha are my great-great grandparents. I have much more information on the Strong's, and a little bit of information on each of the other families listed that I would be more than willing to share. I look forward to hearing back from Susan, and for that matter any of list member that is connected to this line, or has any information relating to this line of Strong's.
