    3. Hi Folks! Bill Strong, (formerly Bill Garcia.... he recently legally changed his name back to his birth name!) posted an interesting message today about the desirability of backing up your personal websites and computer data with electronic data on diskettes and hard-copies (paper)... Actually, with my legal background, I have never trusted computers (they crash!), and thoroughly believe in "hard" paper copies of everything (it's better evidence than electronic data!... that's also why I don't trust banks to keep my records; I want a canceled check to prove payment, etc. {:-)!) The specter of the Year 2000 problem is perhaps reason enough to perform backups... but I've also had the experience of my local server suddenly and without warning going out of business.... ANY files on a server can suddenly disappear! Bill's advice to perform backups is wise advice at all times! Take a look at Bill's "Biographical and Anecdotal" Website if you haven't done so lately.... He has added a feature called "The Strong Headstone Gallery", displaying photos of various headstones contributed by members of the Strong-List. It is interesting and enlightening.... See this URL: http://www.wdstrong.com/strong/headstones/index.html If you have a headstone photo to contribute, maybe you could contact Bill and arrange to have it posted in the "Headstone Gallery"! Take a particular look at the Headstone photo re John Strong, d. June 1, 1852. Bill Strong of Dunnville, ON contributed the text accompanying the photo... note that the headstone photo, when combined with the text becomes a great way of announcing to the world that Bill of Dunnville is looking for descendants of John Strong. You might want to consider doing the same... and you could also work with Bill (Garcia) Strong to create links to other sites, including your own website if you have one! Alternatively, if you have already posted similar photos on your website, maybe you could provide Bill with the necessary URL so he could create a link from his index page! While we are at it, maybe Bill can expand the scope of the Biographical and Anecdotal site to include a webpage devoted to old photos of various Strongs/Stranges from years past.... again with links to your personal webpages????!!!!! I've got a few I could contribute!!!! Congratulations to Bill Strong on his interesting and innovative web site! Let's hope we can hear from each additional member of the list... tell us about your personal websites! Is there a way we can share in viewing photos you have posted there.... and learn more about your personal links to the Strong Genealogical Network???!!!! Can we do a better job of linking to you????!!!! Regards, David B.
