I am a descendant of "John HOPKINS of Cambridge, 1634" (his arrival date in MA). In the LDS Ancestral File, it shows John married to Jane STRONG (1615-1679) of Chardstock, daughter of Thomas STRONG (1684-1663) and Joanna BAGGE (ca. 1586-1657). Thomas is shown as son of George STRONG (1556-1636) of Chard, which makes our Jane first cousin to Elder John STRONG. >From what I can gather, the George > Thomas > Jane descent is quite secure. Also, my tree is quite secure from "my" Jane and John HOPKINS on down. However, the only evidence I have that "my" Jane STRONG is the same one who was granddaughter of George STRONG is the LDS Ancestral File. Does anyone have any further support that the Jane STRONG of Chardstock, who was granddaughter to George STRONG of Chard (and first cousin to Elder John STRONG), is the same one who married John HOPKINS of Cambridge? (Our Jane is shown as having a second marriage, to Nathaniel WARD.)
