It is uncertain when he relocated; one son relocated by 1762. His wife has not been identified. GENERATION 03: Thomas Strong, Sr., b. 16 DEC 1739 (OS)= 27 DEC 1739 (NS), Hanover Co., VA. He was residing in Pittsylvania County, VA, in 1775 and is presumed to have died there in late 1775 or soon thereafter. No later records have been found. Thomas Strong's wife / widow has not been proven. Thomas Strong possibly married Mary _?_ or Elizabeth _?_, probably in Hanover, Halifax or Pittsylvania Co., VA. Mrs. Mary Strong and (Mrs.?) Elizabeth Strong were residents of Rockingham County, NC, formerly Guilford County, NC, subsequent to 1775. Mrs. Mary Strong was enumerated on the 1790 census of Rockingham County, NC, with one son born 1774 or earlier, four sons born 1775-1790, and five possible daughters of unspecified age. The husbands or consorts of Mary Strong and Elizabeth Strong have not been positively identified; both had sons named Strong. William S. KY, m. Wiley H. Cope. Their daughter, Louisa Cope (b 1845 Breathitt Co., KY), married James G. Gillum (b. 1862, Breathitt Co KY). Sarah Jane Gillum (d/o Louisa Cope and James G. Gillum), b. 11 APR 1873, Breathitt Co., KY; m. Harlan Wellington Brown at Wolfe Co. KY; Sarah Jane died 9 APR 1946, Breathitt Co., KY. Their daughter, Alwilda Brown, b. 16 FEB 1899, Breathitt Co., KY, d. 5 MAY 1997, Tampa, Hillsborough Co, FL, married Bruce Cundiff on 9 DEC 1925 in Breathitt Co., KY. They are my mother's parents (Jo Karen Cundiff Strong). Sarah Jane Gillum was also married to James Osborne Robertson of Breathitt Co., KY, and they had five children: Ira, Lula, Ida, James and Pryce. No other information on James O.
