The Disciples of Christ (Christian Church) has an historical society with a web page: http://users.aol.com/dishistsoc/index.html In a nutshell, it is a highly non-authoritarian, egalitarian church. Pastors are elected. The only authority is the bible, and a person's relationship with the diety is between the diety and that person, not between the person and the church. Considering how authoritarian early churches were (and some still today), it is no wonder that Alexander Campbell was seen as a revolutionary.
