Hello David, I just finished reading and absorbing your message "Position Paper: Strong Genealogical Network and Rootsweb Strong-List". Your message is most informative and I thank you and everyone mentioned for your combined efforts. As a point of clarification, I signed onto the Stronge rootsweb in hopes of learning more of my direct ancestor Marey Strange. I am under the impression there are a lot more Strongs than Stranges on this list but I remain listed in the event more information on Strange appears. Also, I have seen some discrepancies on the Strong Gen Forum relative to Lot Strange. I have also noticed in most work that Marey Strange is listed as "Mary" with a couple of references as "Marcy". One reference I have researched listed her as "Marey" which prompted me to get the original record from the Town of Freetown Birth record page 108 (transcription follows). After reading the original record and comparing to olde English, I interpret Mary as Marey and not Marcy. It is certainly not "Mary". I have also given Keith Hume (Chase/Hume lineage a certified copy). I would like further discussion of my interpretation and hope my contribution will help fellow Strong/Strange researchers.
