David-I believe these are the correct dates for my great great grandparents: William 1779-1863, Mary 1798-1866. Their first child was born in 1812 but there is reason to believe that there were two Marys. The last child was born in 1841. William had eight children one of whom was my great grandfather Thomas 1822-1908. He married Marry Anne (Dane) 1827-1916. My grandfather,Robert Thomas,1865 -1918 married Martha Belle (Tease)1872-1940 (believed to have been born in Omaha Neb. My dad, Robert William Dane 1898-1935 married Margaret E ( Cutmore 1902-1983). I (Col Don W Strong) 1927- married Jean Margaret Aitken. So there you have it. The last four generations were born or brought up in Brantford.
