Hello Everyone. I've just posted a set of updated results in the DNA Study. There are additional results which represent PP3 values re kits # 6811 and 6643, respectively. Apparently, someone at the lab has been on vacation, as we have had a lull in receiving results until now; hopefully we will have additional results soon. We now have 27 participants in the study; with results posted re 22 of them. The analysis of results is an on-going process; I have updated the "Interpretation of Results" section of the webpage again. Please take a look at the results, and pass along any questions or comments which you may have. See: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~donegalstrongs/dnaresults.htm We welcome any additional participants who may wish to join. Now that we are beginning to see the development of certain recognizable "haplotypes" in the study, I hope we can become fairly effective in assisting some participants to narrow the scope of their research by identifying the likely lineage group of their previously unknown ancestry, eg., we hope to aid in "breaking down some of the brickwalls". {:-) There are probably more distinct haplotypes out there, however, and we can use all the help we can get in establishing their DNA "signatures". In addition, I am aware that at some time in the past certain members of the Armstrong List may have had some testing done; I believe it was by "Ancestry". I would be most interested in discussing the results from that testing with them. There are some problems in comparing results between testing organizations, but it might be very useful to review the results. (I suspect there may be relationships between persons bearing differing surnames (but who have similar DNA signatures), which may be traced to various events. A considerable number of such relationships may occur with regard to persons having Scots or Border ancestry, and I am interested in trying to track such relationships.) I hope to hear from the interested persons involved. Regards Dave Strong ...
