Hello from New Zealand, I may be able to shed some light upon Dr Breithaupt's query. Our line of STRONG's have always been told that we were direct descendents of Lord Horatio STRONG and the eldest sons of each generation have NELSON as a second name. Some English peoplet visited an elderly uncle of mine, (Eric Richardson STRONG) in New Zealand. They had left his house before I got over there but this is the information he was given. Lord Horatio NELSON and his mistress Lady Emma HAMILTON had a daughter - Horatia She married and had (I think - going by memory here) nine children. The STRONG connection comes through one of her children. My uncle was hugely embarressed as he said "Horatia and Emma were not married you know - don't tell anybody" Horatia married someone in the clergy from what I can recall. If you like I will have a hunt through and see if there is any other info. By the way - I think Horatia's surname was HAMILTON .
