To encourage us "pure" STRANGE lot to join in would you be so kind as to summarize the distribution between name constructs (STRANGE, STRONG etc) for future updates. All of the information, concerning STRANGE, STRAINGE, STRAUNGE etc (but not STRONG), that people post on my mail list goes on my web site: www.yourtotalevent.com Regards Mike Strange Bedfordshire, England *********************************************************** Researching STRANGE in Oxfordshire and Berkshire. 3. Hi Mike. Thanks for your interest. I intend to post a Results page on my website soon which will set out exactly the distribution of name participants in the DNA Study. We have not had a huge number of Strange (or Strang) participants so far, but indeed we would welcome any who want to join the study. We are just now starting to gain results sufficient to aide interested genealogists with further research. Everyone who joins the study will be contributing to our over-all level of knowledge. One thing which is so far apparent from the results we have is that the Strange of Virginia Haplotype is DIFFERENT from the Strong of Virginia Haplotype... thus indicating the two families have different origins in England. Perhaps this is a score for the "Strange purists"! {:-) I can also tell you that we have a Strange participant who can directly trace lineage a Henry Strange in the early days of the colonization of Virginia, and who hypothesizes that Henry was descended from John Strange and Phebe Mitchell of Devon, England, circa 1600. We would be MOST interested in having any English descendants of John Strange and Phebe Mitchell come forward to join the study... and indeed any Stranges of Devon. Our present participant would be very interested whether a DNA match can be established. Any help you can provide in soliciting such participation would be greatly appreciated!
