Hello Everyone. Just to let you know, I am presently working on a draft of a webpage to present results of the study. However, it is a bit premature as we do not yet have much by way of test results from Family Tree DNA. While we do have preliminary 12-marker test results for four members, we are still awaiting completion of the additional results required to bring their results up to the 25 marker test results ordered. Further, since the lab at the University of Arizona was closed for a period during the holidays, we expect additional delays in receiving results. However, there are several test samples which have been forwarded to the lab by FTDNA and we are making some progress in getting the study group to the size where we will be able to compare the results when recieved. We continue to need additional volunteers for the study! We have 17 members who have completed sign up and ordered the test kits. Not all have actually sent their samples in for testing. Additionally, we have 1 member who has completed sign up, but who has apparently not yet ordered the test kit; 1 who has signed up, but not submitted releases or pedigrees; and 1 committed but no paperwork as yet. There are others of varying degrees of interest... Of the 17 who have actually ordered the test kits and 3 additional who haven't, they break out into groups as follows: French or Norman descent: Strang of France & New Jersey: 1 English descent: Strong of Cumbria, England (1 committed, but not signed up) (+1) Strange of Virginia: 1 Strong of Virginia: 3 Strong of Norfolk (1 who hasn't ordered kit) (+1) Strong of New England: 1 (1 who hasn't completed signup) (+1) Strong of Newfoundland: 1 Scottish descent: Strang/Strong of Scotland: 1 Strong of South Carolina: 1 Strong of Co.Down, Ire: 1 Unknown English or Scottish descent: Strong of Co. Donegal, Ire: 3 Strong of Co. Sligo, Ire: 1 Strong of Ohio 1 Strong of Pennsylvania 1 Strong of Illinois 1 Unfortunately, I will be away for a few days attending a funeral. When I return, I hope to make further progress on the "status and results" webpage and will report further. In the meantime, we continue to welcome volunteers for the study.
