    1. Strange list
    2. Good news on the Strange name. I worked with John Mayer until his death to link up with the LeStrange or LesStrang genealogy and have a tie now to this name in Kentucky. He has a chapter in his yet unpublished book on "The LesStrangs of Pittsburgh" unless Barbara Way, his sister, has put it into print. We have learned that early origins may have come out of Kentucky under one of the various names -- such as Strange -- we seem to be plagued with. My son David has provided a link to the records department in Kentucky -- we are seeking death records -- and will pursue it. Do you have a Strange list for the 1800's-or-so for that state or can tell me where to find it? This may well be our next link. Thanks! Jacques LesStrang Jlesstrang@aol.com

    3. Hi all, Just to let you know that the STRANGE mail list I started up has been quite prolific and every message with source or connection information is added to my web site www.yourtotalevent.com I cover all of the alternative spellings (including Le STRANGE), but I do not include STRONG. please visit and register your subscription to the mail list - we look forward to seeing you there. Just send a blank message to: STRANGE_thename-subscribe@yahoogroups.com By the way you can post attachments there, something that Rootsweb does not permit so the sharing of data files is easy and welcomed.
