    3. I am new to this list, having just joined. The welcome letter suggests I give my Strong ancestors. Before I do that, I have a query. I am looking for the parents of this Elizabeth Frazier (or variation), b 1759, don't know where, m Samuel Strong, don't know where or when. She was shown as a widow in the 1790 census of Washington Co., PA. She was in Washington Co., PA when she m 2nd Nicholas Ridgely Pumphrey in 1792. She had 3 sons by Samuel Strong, Benjamin, William, and Samuel. She had 4 more sons by Nicholas, first Nicholas, died young, Nicholas again, Lott and Amos. She died 1827 in Fayette Co., IN. Who was this Samuel? I belong the Strong Family Association, for descendants of Elder John Strong. I have asked them abt this Samuel Strong, and they do not know anything abt him. Thanks for any help. I will give my descent from Elder John in my next msg. Joyce

    3. Joyce: I have been researching in the line you described for several years now, thinking that my great grandfather was descended from the Washington Co., PA Strongs. Have you had anyone in your family (male Strong) submitted for the DNA data base? It would be wonderful to find a link there. How do you know Elizabeth was a Frazier, and that she married Samuel Strong? Are you familiar with the other Strong families from that area? There was several Strong families who ended up in Fayette or Union Counties Indiana, and I have considerable information on these lines. Just now, I am preparing for a move to Alaska. I had lived there for over 30 years but moved to Louisiana to live and work on a farm for just over a year. All my data is packed into boxes, but I would love to share it with you when I am unpacked. Do you know any information on the Nathaniel Strong who was in PA and also ended up in IN? This is wonderful that you have signed up..... you are the first person I've met who appears to be in the same line as I am, but I had hit a brick wall with the widow Elizabeth. She had a great deal of land (over 300 acres). I saw where she had it, but never how it was sold..... perhaps it was under the Pumphrey name! Look forward to hearing from you. I'll be at this email address until AUG 10th, then I'll be at reneb@gci.net until I find out if the latter can be transferred from Anchorage to Fairbanks. 3. Joyce: I wish I had my materials, but I do recall there was a land owner very close to Elizabeth with the name Frazier... perhaps that was the father or a brother. I will get the name when I get to Alaska.
