I have a Jacob STRAUSS from Weltersbach whose grandfather I believe is Johannes. I've just returned from Salt Lake City and copied the Weltersbach records onto CD. It's not easy for me to translate the records but slowly, I'm getting through them. Jacob married Maria Elizabetha INGBERT. Their children were Johannes(which I believe went by the name Michael), Nicholas, Barbara, Katherina, Phillipina, Maria Elizabetha. Nicholas, Barbara, Katherina (my great, great grandmother) and Phillipina immigrated to America about 1857 and settled in Muskingum County Ohio.
