    3. Thank you for your efforts, Sam. The 1860 census shows none of Zach. & Mary's children were born in Kentucky, so I wouldn't expect to find them there. And as you can see, Garry Heagy has found them in 1850 in Trumbull Co., OH. And I have since found them in 1840, living next to Mary's mother in Trumbull Co. All my difficulty stemmed from not realizing, til now, that about half of Trumbull County's townships are not indexed at Ancestry.com in either 1840 or 1850. There ought to be some kind of warning when a county is incompletely indexed! Thanks again for trying. I love this list -- everyone is so helpful.
