As some of you know, I've been working on extracting census records of surname STRAUB/STROUP (and variations) for several years and posting them at my STRAUB web site. I've been creating two kinds of tables to represent these records, one I'm calling "Census Record Tables." These contain the full records, and there is a web page for each year for each state. The main purpose of these pages is that they can function as every-name indices using the Find feature of your browser -- and as a source for building the other kind of table, which I'm calling "Census Timeline Tables." These are large tables combining all records for all years for one state on one page, allowing families to be aligned in "timelines." I'm still far from completing what I've set out to do, but enough has been completed to be helpful. These tables can be reached from this hub: http://dgmweb.net/genealogy/Straub/Straub-Census.htm I have just now completed full extractions for the Pennsylvania census record tables from 1790 to 1870. For 1880 there are scattered records. I have extracted all the heads-of-households from the indices, but not the full records, for 1910, plus a handfull of records for 1920 and 1930. The timeline table has many entries, but has not caught up to the record tables. The Ohio census record tables are complete for 1820 and 1830. For 1840, I have completed listing all names from the indices, but haven't quite finished extracting all the records. 1850, 1860, and 1870 are in progress. There are a few records for 1880 and 1900, and nothing for 1910-1930. Of the timeline tables, Ohio is the most complete of all the states, more complete than the Ohio census record tables. (I began building the Ohio timeline table using the census records on my STRAUB/STROUP family group sheets, then came to realize that it would be far more efficient to build census records tables, first, which is why Ohio is the only state where the timeline table is more complete than the record tables.) The census record tables for New York are complete from 1790-1840 and partially done for 1850 and 1860. I've listed all the heads-of-households for 1870. I've extracted a handful of records for 1880 and nothing for later years. The timeline table has some entries. The census record tables for Illinois and Indiana are nearly complete from 1820-1870, with just a handful of records for 1880 and 1900, and nothing yet from 1910-1930. The Illinois and Indiana timeline tables are just begun. The census record tables for Michigan are complete for 1830 and 1840 and in progress for 1850. For 1860, all heads-of-households have been extracted from the indices and extractions of the full records is in progress. There are a couple of records extracted for 1870 and nothing for later years. The timeline table is just begun. Also linked to the above "census hub" are St. Joseph Co., IN, records extracted by Sue Davis. I have not proof-read my work. It's taking all my discipline and diligence just to get through it. If you find errors or omissions, please don't hesitate to contact me. Invariably, people who are familiar with a family can make a better reading than someone not familiar with the family. And if you've emailed me lately but haven't heard back, this is why. I will never get through these unless I just set *everything* else aside and stick to it. My current goal is to bring everything up to 1870. With the full 1880 census online at the LDS, I don't see a high priority for my doing 1880. I'll do 1900-1930 as I find time. Good hunting, Diana
