I'm sorry to report that the actions of RootsWeb have necessitated my resignation from sponsorship of the STRAUB-L mailing list and the STRAUB GenConnect boards. It is with the deepest regret that I have had to make this decision, but no person with an ounce of self-respect or backbone could accept RootsWeb's recent treatment of its sponsors. The door is open to anyone who wants to take these over, only now there are both STRAUB-L and STROUP-L mailing lists and both STRAUB and STROUP suites of GenConnect boards, with perhaps STROUB, STROUPE, STRAUBE, etc. to follow. RootsWeb is hell-bent on "out GenForuming" GenForum, FTM, the LDS, etc. I will continue to support the STRAUB Home Page and the STRAUB Family Group Sheet project -- in fact, I'm pleased that I will now have more time to devote to the latter. You will no longer be able to link to RootsWeb resources from the STRAUB Home Page. The links are on the new "cluster" boards for each surname. Please accept my apologies for whatever disruption this may mean in terms of service on the list or boards -- all are quiet, so you may notice nothing. I hope RootsWeb does not put me on the Reject List for STRAUB-L, because otherwise I do intend to stay subscribed. However, I will no longer contribute documents to GenConnect, but will post them at my web site, instead, so you might want to check my site occasionally.
