Okay...here's another one to see if anyone is out there! In 1870, in Jefferson Co., MO, Jasper Eoff married Margaret Stroup. She must have died shortly , as he married again in 1879. To add a bit of confusion to the mix, their marriage record shows him as: JOSEPH OAF (that's the pronunciation of EOFF) and her as MARY STROUPP. There were a bunch of Stroups in Jefferson Co., but no missing Marys OR Margarets. All suggestions greatfully received! Jerri Eoff Sudderth
