Susan, I have been researching Andrew Straub, the son of Peter since 1979. My dad ,born in 1908, said that the Andrew who founded Freeburg, Snyder, PA, was his great-great uncle. Dad's source of information was from his great aunt, Salomi Straub Shaffer who was born in 1859and died about 1936. Two years ago, I had gone to several counties in central PA to search for information concerning Andrew. In Centre at Bellefonte, I found that Andrew and his wife, Barbara bought and sold about 50 parcels of land in that county. Then I visited Mifflin, Perry, Union, Northumberland and Cumberland. That Andrew ( I checked his signature on the land transfer documents) and his wife Barbara, had bought and sold many parcels of land during the late 1700's and the first half of 1800.- There were so many that I did not have enough time to make copies of all of them.-I have a copy of the original transfer of Peter Straub's spelled STROUP) land deeded to Andrew, his son for 900 pounds on 15 June 1792. Found in Deed Book E, pages 444 and 445 in the Northumberland County Courthouse records. I have more documents if you want the reference numbers.
