The birthdates of the children suggest that Bernard and Jane were married in the early 1820s, and this date is consistent with the fact that Bernard shows up in the 1830 census (of Huntingdon Co.), but nowhere in the 1820 census. Almost invariably, young people -- certainly young women -- lived with their parents until they married. Thus we need to find a place where there were both STRAUB/STROUP and ENGLISH families in the 1820 census. There are no STRAUB/STROUP or ENGLISH families in Huntingdon Co. in 1820, at all, so we must look elsewhere. The most likely place would appear to be Perry Co., where there are a number of STRAUB, STROUP, and ENGLISH families in the 1820 census. Anyway, that's where I would start looking... Diana
