My name is Shirley STRAUB Morton. I am glad that I gave my friend, Debbe Hagner permission to send that information to Diana concerning the Union County Orphan's Court Records about John STRAUB's estate and guardians of the children. Last year I was not able to do much of any thing due to a severe bout with pneumonia. This year , my health is much better. My line is: John STRAUB, b. ?, d. 13 Jan 1824 =Elizabeth Steeley, 12 Dec1794 -17 May 1864 ---Jonathan Francis STRAUB, Sr. 9 May 1821 -2 Nov 1901 = Barbara Steffen, 20 Dec1834 -25 Dec 1919 -----Jonathan Francis STRAUB, Jr., 5Nov1873 - 30 Sep 1910 = Lily Agnes Kerstetter, 23 Jul 1869 - 15 Jan 1914 --------William Augustus STRAUB, 10 Jan 1908 -19 May 1992 = Estella Lillian Moser - 3 Oct 1908 - 22 Dec 1982 My brick wall is finding solid evidence that John STRAUB who married Elizabeth Steeley was the soldier of Revolutionary days. Or was he John's son? Or was his father someone other than Peter who died in 1804? They all lived in the area that is now Snyder County, PA.
I've noticed that on Diana's website Andrew b. 1770 is linked to the 1810 census in Greenwood Twp, Juniata County. (31010-11101) This Andrew should be the same one listed in the 1800 census in Penns Twp, Snyder County. (31010-10010) Penn Twp is where he was born and where his family lived. It's curious that the numbers for the males are the same. We've been told the woman over 45 in the 1810 census is Andrew's mother. If this is true and the numbers are correct, then Andrew's wife is not listed with him in 1810.
