Shirley, I sure hope we have a connection as I've been at a dead end for some time with the Straubs. My great grandfather was Edward Straub born in Pennsylvania about 1861. By 1880 he was in Indianapolis, Indiana. He is listed on the census as working in a boot factory. His father's name was Vincent or it may have been William. He owned the boot factory. They had another child besides Edward: Julia was born about 1869 in Indianapolis. The mother was "Mary". Both Vincent and Mary were born in Baden Germany about 1833. That is ALL that I have about them. Where they were in Pennsylvania, I have NO idea. Hope some of this looks familiar to you!
