Hello everyone I am hoping that someone may be able to point me in the right direction. I have recently been researching my great grandfather Louis Stroubel (also sometimes Lewis and sometimes Straubel). He was born in Bethnal Green in London in 1863. By the time of the 1881 census he was lodging with a family called Kreisburg. He married Elizabeth Worsfold in Whitechapel 1886. By the time of the 1891 census he was living with Elizabeth and two daughters (Elizabeth and Rose) in Artillery Street, Bethnal Green. In the 1901 census he was still at that address with Elizabeth and with their children (Elizabeth, Louisa, Emma Alice, Lewis, Margaret and Edith). He also had another daughter in 1901 called Lilian Maud. By trade he was a French Polisher. His daughter Emma Alice, my grandmother, emigrated to New Zealand with Walter Lee sometime around 1928. Apart from his wife and children, Louis is a bit of a mystery man to me. I have no idea of the whereabouts of any of his other family. Does any of the above ring any bells with anyone?
