Hi All, I wrote to Hammond Ind. regarding the Straube Piano Co. and here's the reply. The Straube Piano Company was started in a Chicago suburb in 1878. The company was named after William Straube the founder. The Company moved to the city of Hammond, Ind. in the early part of the 1900's. In 1940 the Straube Piano Company moved to Chicago Heights, Illinois. They could find no connection of the Straube Piano Co. to Solomon Straub or Maria Straub of the Straub music publishing company of Chicago. To me that means that there still may be a connection but they are not aware of any. Is William Straube related to Solomon or Maria Straub? Nancy Straub Holben
