    2. james t. wiswall
    3. Dear Listowners - I hope you can help. We are currently using CSi version 2.5. We would like to upgrade to CS2000. We have heard that there are significant problems with existing file-write-over / deletion / corruption with CS2000. Is this still a problem? Is CS2000 compatable with the Geneology Forum / RootsWeb.com? My wife has a treasure trove of information that we DO NOT was written over. Any thoughts, experiences, solutions would be appreciated. In advance, Thanks a thousand - feel free to get back with the e-mail address given below! Jim / Diane Wiswall jtwiswall@compuserve.com

In a message dated 6/27/99 7:31:31 PM Eastern Daylight Time, VReeder@aol.com writes: << She is also referred to as a consort. >> Just a comment in passing ---- The LDS Genealogical Word List for Latin defines "consors(consortis)" as Latin for "wife". I have seen many, many European church records which list the female spouse as a "consort". Dick

    2. Attn Garry, Back again. I found lots of missinfo. with the recordings I have made from different good intentional people in Claremont Co., so do take that into consideration. Some is correct and without doubt and other info. perplexing. One of the confusing ones is this. I have Framey died at the age of 64 because it was written on her Tombstone she died June 24, 1833, and her birth was 1769 which would have made her two years younger than her husband. She is also referred to as a consort. I have had many laughs about that because if that word is interpreted as it is today then she had 16 illegitimate children--quite a gal. Ha ha. Yes, I have Daniel being married to Mary S. as well as Anna Haines. No proof written here. I guess if we keep comparing and digging we'll come up with the correct answer. Right? I have already learned a lot from you. thanks for sharing. Ginger, in AZ.

    2. Dear Gary et all interested in the Goshen, Clermont Co., O. Straup/b Family connections: In answer to your questions written 6-27-99, Garry: Thank you for the information about the fact that it was the custom to give the children two names and the person would be called by the second name rather than as we do today. (ie --Johan Jacob Straub would have been called Jacob. That is very interesting. Now I have just looked on my data base and this is what I have. Jacob Straub and Framey Fryburger had 16 kids according to my records. After looking at the names I see I do not have all of the first names listed but this info. was sent to me from researchers in Clermont Co. several years ago. You asked for the birth date of Andrew---Interesting---I have April 15, 1808 for Andrew Straub and then after looking closely to the other children I see Ellen was born July 11, 1808. Something is nuts here. Someone must be with the wrong family or the 1808 is incorrect. Your guess is as good as mine. I have made notes under these names and hopefully this will be resolved soon. Now about Framey having a second name. She was called Francie in a deed and it was also written as FRANCA (which to me sounds more German)--and in this same record they mention 16 kids. Concerning the Fryburgers: I have mentioned this before to this group and don't think I've had any answers to this one, but some time ago someone from Northumberland Co. sent me a newspaper article that states the fact that Ludwig Fryburger, Framey's father, was Jewish. Did you have any info. about this? Very interesting I think. More in a little while. Ginger in Az.

    3. I have put up some family group sheets for Johan Jacob Junior, Andrew, Peter, and Daniel. You can begin at Johan Jacob Senior's page: http://grove.ufl.edu/~dianagal/Straub/FGS/JohanJacobStraub-FrancesFrybarger.htm Remember that it's best not to bookmark pages as the site is undergoing constant revision and updating. You can always begin at the home page http://grove.ufl.edu/~dianagal/Straub/StraubHome.htm or the gateway to the indexes: http://grove.ufl.edu/~dianagal/Common/EveryNameIndex-Start.htm The home page and index gateway URLs will not change, at least not unless I move to a new server. If I move to a new server, there will be a notice where to go at: http://grove.ufl.edu/~dianagal/ Garry Heagy wrote: > > Hi Ginger, > > Concerning Johan Jacob STRAUB, it was customery for the German families > before about 1800 to use a name like Johan before the second name that the > person would be known by. > > With the addition of Andrew to the family, I now have 15 children for Jacob > and 'Framey'. 3. Hi Ginger, Concerning Johan Jacob STRAUB, it was customery for the German families before about 1800 to use a name like Johan before the second name that the person would be known by. With the addition of Andrew to the family, I now have 15 children for Jacob and 'Framey'. Do you have a birth date for Andrew? I'm wondering why I had Frances as 'Framey's name. Do you know her second name? If Daniel b. 1805 married Anna Haines in 1826, would Mary Shetterly have been his second wife? Garry

    3. Hi Ginger, This is some of what I have on Johan Jacob Straub (Stroup) b. 1767. He was the son of Johan Peter Straub b. 1724. He was married to Frances Fryburger. He died in Goshen, Clermont County, Ohio. His son, Peter S. was born May 1, 1802. His son, Daniel, was b. 1803 and married Anna Haines. The Andrew and Daniel that you mentioned, are they sons of Jacob? Garry

    1. Re: [STRAUB-L] My mystery Stroups/Straubs
    2. No, my husband has no Frybergers in his line. His family are Stroups--different Stroups from these--I just happen to have information on them. They probably connect somewhere along the way if we ever get back that far! :-) Garry, I will be happy to send you this info. also, or you can just wait for the Straub/Stroup site to be updated with it, whatever! :-) Sue

    1. [STRAUB-L] The group who settled in Goshen, Clermont Co., Ohio
    2. Attn: Garry Boy, this is too much. Wow Yes, Andrew was son of Jacob and married to Elizabeth Riggs. Yes, Peter also was son of Jacob and was married to a Catherine? I didn't have the name Johan listed as you do but my data base is very sketchy. Daniel according to my records was born in 1805 and he married twice 1. Anna Haines, 2. Mary Shetterly. I don't know whether this is correct or not. I received this info. from the Clermont Co. Historic Society several years and have not been concentrating on the name until now. Any more info. will be greatly appreciated. Did you read my question about the Fryburgers being Jewish? Thanks Ginger in Az.

My name and snail mail--- Ginger Reeder Christensen 16211 West Starlight Drive Surprise, Az. 85374 I shall be happy to reimburse you for the mailing. Another thought. Is your husband's last name Fryburger? If so, have you any information about the family being Jewish originally? That was a message I received from Penn. several years ago and never have gotten any farther with it. Thanks a bundle. Ginger in Az.

    1. Re: [STRAUB-L] My mystery Stroups/Straubs
    2. Ginger, I have some information on that very family for you. I was just making copies of it today for someone else, made one too many, and put the last one in the recycle bin, as the printer was running out of ink. I rescued it just now and will mail it to you if you will send me your snail mail address. This has the families of Ludwig and Mary FREIBERGHER, which includes daughter, Euphramia "Framey" FRYBERGER and Jacob STROUP's family, and their son Daniel who m. Mary SHETTERLY, also Jacob's sister? married Andrew SHETTERLY. I don't know how Andrew and Mary are connected. This is not my husband's direct line. You may also want to check out the website at http://grove.ufl.edu/~dianagal/ The information I will be sending you is in addition to this, and I was making copies to send to this webmaster. Like I say, if you will send me your address, I will drop this in the mail Susan M. (Sue) Gates Davis http://www.angelfire.com/mi/GatesDavisGene Stroup-Keck Genealogy
