Strack, 90, of Missoula, passed away on Friday, Oct. 20, 2006, at his home in Missoula. He was born Feb. 8, 1916, in Wibaux to the late Anton and Rosalie Strack. He married Mary Marcella Duffy on Sept. 1, 1938, at St. Matthew.s Catholic Church in Kalispell. On Sept. 1, 2006, they had celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary. He worked for Consolidated Freightways in Kalispell for 39 years. He enjoyed bowling every week with his friends. He loved to fish and tell all kinds of stories. He especially loved to go camping and on outings with family and friends. He was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church in Kalispell for many years before moving to Missoula. He was preceded in death by a son, Greg; a daughter, Rita Steinke; his brothers Bert and Fred; and his sisters Josie and Dora. Survivors include his wife Marcella of Missoula; son Richard of Tucson, Ariz.; daughters Sharon (Bob) Burgad, Betty (Mark) Anderson of Missoula and a daughter, Kay Petroff of Sydney, Australia; brother John of Boise, Idaho; and a sister, Katie McKinley of Kalispell. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild, along with numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:10 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, at the St. Matthews Catholic Church in Kalispell. The Rev. Father Victor Langhans of St. Matthews Catholic Church will be the celebrant. The reception will be held at the Parish Center. The inurnment will take place at a later date at the Conrad Cemetery in Kalispell. The family would like to thank Dr. Hughson, his nurse Diane and a special thanks to Partner.s Hospice nurse Dorothy for making it possible for Matt to stay home the last week of his life, with such loving care. The cremation has taken place at the Dowling Crematory in Hamilton. The family would like to suggest that donations be made to the Loyola Sacred Heart High School in Missoula.
