Strack of Wagon Wheel Trail, passed away Monday, Aug. 26, 2002, at her home following a long illness. She was 76. She was born on May 30, 1926, in Keeseville, N.Y., the daughter of the late Rena and Anthony Samohel. After graduating from Keeseville High School, she moved to Ilion, N.Y., where she worked at Remington Arms as a secretary during World War II. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard N. Strack, whom she married on June 22, 1946. Prior to 1949, they resided in Cambridge and Tupper Lake before settling in Saratoga Springs, where they raised their family of 8 children. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, quilting and trips to Las Vegas and Mohegan Sun. Survivors include five sons, Harry R. Strack and his friend, Alice Lee of Green Clove Springs, Fla.; Michael A. Strack and his wife, Penelope of Austin, Texas, Martin J. Strack and his fiancee, Amy Brennan, Patrick J. Strack and his wife, Ann Marie and Peter D. Strack and his wife, Kwang Hee, all of Saratoga Springs; three daughters, Sandra R. Gehring and her friend, William Cherry, Karen M. Strack, with whom Carmelia resided, and Cynthia Anne Strack-Choy and her husband, Manuel all of Saratoga Springs; 16 grandchildren, Suzette and Marshall Gehring, Peter Strack and his wife, Susan, Juliana and her husband, Chris Gauldin, Lisa, Kim, April, Richard, Lynn, Daniel, Edward, Jo and Jennifer Strack and Orion, Halley and Hunter Choy; A former daughter-in-law, Mee Strack of Pittsfield, Mass.; four great - grandchildren, Zachary Gehring, Ashley, Kyle and Mitchell Strack; two brothers, Donald Spooner and his wife, Lorraine and Harvey LeCuyer and his wife, Lillian all of Keeseville, N! .Y.; one sister, Irene Shumway and her husband, Robert of Keeseville; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30, 2002, at St. Clement’s Church, 231 Lake Ave., Saratoga Springs. The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Saratoga Springs. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, 2002, at Simone Funeral Home Inc., 105 Lake Ave., Saratoga Springs.
