Looking for info on Jasper Stowell b. abt. 1803 in NH (according to 1860 census). 1860 census (Woodford Co., IL) gives his age as 52; tombstone says he was b. 1803. He married Polly Meyers; b. abt. 1800-1805 in NY(acc. to census). Son Charles Newton Stowell b. 1839 in NY. Charles' death cert. says Jasper b. in NY. Other children were Luther b. 1840 in NY; Polly A. b. 1842 in NY. To add to the confusion, There is a tombstone in the Stowell plot (Evergreen Cem., ElPaso, Woodford Co., IL) that says "Nancy Stowell, Sister, 1837-1872." In 1860 census, there is a Nancy E. Myers living with the family. She was b. NY abt. 1934. Also listed is Helen Myers,8,b. OH; Frank B. Myers, 6, b. OH; & William G. Myers, 4, b. OH. I think Nancy Myers is the dau. of Jasper & Polly, but why would she be buried as Stowell? I would like to know the parents of Jasper Stowell & maybe get a birth date & marriage date for him.
