Taken from Metamora Herald 3 Dec 1926; Date of death 29 Nov 1926 EL PASO LADY, MARRIED IN METAMORA IN 61, DEAD After having suffered a stroke of paralysis Monday, Mrs. Chas. Stowell, died at her home in El Paso Tuesday, aged 85 years. She was born January 1, 1840, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Warner and spent her whole life in Illinois. She was married to Mr. Chas. Stowell in Metamora in Nov. 1861. Mr. Stowell passed away many years ago. The following children survive: Mrs. Addie Evans and Mrs. Elmer Taylor, El Paso; Mrs. Laura Shoemaker, Freeport; and Mrs. Maud Slogget, Ashton. Funeral services were held at 2:30 wednesday afternoon at the Methodist Church with Rev. Mr. Van Leer in charge. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, El Paso.
