William was born born 18 May 1864, in Fort Recovery, Mercer County, Ohio. He died 31 August 1936 in Columbus, Ohio. He married Ida Elizabeth Messerly on 5 Sept. 1894 in Portland, Jay County, Indiana. She died 27 Oct. 1946, in Big Point, Jackson County, Miss. Both she and William are buried in Union Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio. They had three children, Alma, born & died 12 Oct. 1895 in Portland, Indiana. Mary Elizabeth (my mother) born 23 Mar. 1897, Portland, Jay Co., Ind. died 27 Sept. 1978 in Pascagoula, Jackson Co., Miss. & a son William Elias born 14 Jan. 1902 In Portland, Jay Co., Ind. died 2 Aug. 1985 in Columbus, Ohio. Several years ago I corresponded with Marjorie (Stowell) Foltz/Kitcken. If you wouldn't mind I would love to exchange information on the descendants of Ransford with you. I believe Francis Stowell at one time owned land in Mississippi next to my folks. But I have not come in contact with any of his family.
