I know this is quite an old post but I am new to ancestry.com and have just come across it. My name is Erin and I am the great-granddaughter of Helen and Dent Stowell. Yes, he did commit bigamy but this is the first I've heard about deportation. The story here in the states is that he left England so he wouldn't be arrested.
